Online stores 'breaking laws'

Many internet retailers could be unintentionally breaking the law due to their lack of awareness of online shopping regulations.
A report from the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) found that 20 per cent of online electrical retailers did not realise that buyers have an unconditional right to cancel their purchases and two-thirds had never sought advice on the laws relating to internet shopping.

The music download website whose activities threatened to scupper Russia's entry into the World Trade Organisation (WTO) has been shut down.
The site, Allofmp3.com, was quietly closed as the Kremlin sought to end criticism from the United States that Russia was failing to clamp down on music and video piracy.

UK oldies go crazy for e-shopping

On-line shopping is the nation's favourite use for a PC, and over-55s are the UK's most frequent computer users, according to an on-line survey sponsored by Microsoft.Fully 95 percent of over-55s claimed that they went on-line every day, compared to 85 percent of 16-24 year-olds. Indeed, 77 percent of the older group go on-line more than once a day, versus 72 percent of the younger group.
